EUROMILLIONS LOTTERY SCAM PDF Print E-mail

A GLENFIELD RESIDENT has recently received in the post a Winners Notification for £400,000 as an alleged result of a computer ballot entered into the “Euromillion Lottery International.” Fortunately the resident recognised this as a scam.

Be wary of unsolicited mail informing you that you have won a large sum of money in an international lottery. There is no lottery and no prize. Those who initiate a dialogue with the scammers by completing Fund Release Forms and replying to the lottery scammers will eventually be asked for advanced fees to cover expenses associated with delivery of the supposed “winnings”.

If you receive one of these scams do not respond to it. The scammers will act upon any response from those they see as potential victims. The people who run these scams are criminals and could even resort to intimidation to meet their aims.

If you receive one of these scams contact Leicestershire Police on 0116 22 22 222. If you wish to remain anonymous call Crimestoppers free on 0800 555 111. Or contact your neighbourhood officers via the police website www.leics.police.uk.
