CHURCHES TOGETHER IN GLENFIELD organised Fun in the Park and the Holiday Club from the May Bank Holiday weekend through school half term.

The marquee on Ellis Park was our base for activities on the field on Saturday – archery, lazer clay pigeon shooting, penalty shoot out, bouncy castle, tug of war, egg and spoon, sack races, face-painting and the Aching Arms puppets with a free barbecue until the burgers and hot dogs were finished.

On a wet Sunday morning, Praise in the Park with songs, mime, and interviews with Glenfield people, celebrated God’s transforming love for us all. From Tuesday to Friday we ran the Desert Detectives holiday club for 5-9s in St.Peter’s Church Centre with drama, dvds, songs, challenges, crafts, different ways of praying, and home-made biscuits as we discovered different heros in the Bible, Joseph, Daniel, Esther and Jonah. We put our heros from sport or television on a pedestal. Bible heros are presented with their weaknesses and strengths, and their trust in God which shaped them.

On Sunday morning Holiday Club came to Glenfield Methodist Church.

If you would like an invitation to all-age family activities in our churches in Glenfield contact me (tel: 0116 287 1604). John Sharpe 06.06.08.
